Yeah, I am against wing clipping too. The bird never seems to be happy and it's more likely to get hurt while trying to fly (and crash......)

You know, this reminds me....

....There is a huge website about cockatiels in which everyone is allowed to write an article, provided it's decently written and properly useful for cockatiel owners.
In that website, there was an article which read "Why to clip a bird's wings", explaining why all owners of uncaged birds should do that.
....So, I wrote an article titled "the right to fly - why not to clip your pet bird's wings".
..........I NEVER received any reply from the site. It was just completely ignored (and I'm pretty sure it wasn't for stylistic preferences but for the point of view I expressed).

I'm glad that you share my same point of view. I felt silly for not wanting to clip my bird's wings because every expert owner seemed to think so and they made a romantic fool out of me for not liking the idea.....

aw you are no fool. I really believe there is always another option instead of cutting feathers off. People want to go the easy way and make the bird "safe" instead of the room where the bird lives in. But keeping pets is always timetaking, difficult and sometimes frustrating and I think noone has the right to remove claws, teeth, fur, feathers or anything else from the pet.
If the bird cannot fly around normally, one shouldnt keep a bird. If one is afraid of windows and doors, that they might forget to shut them - well - then I guess their bird isnt important enough to them because otherwise they WOULD NEVER forget to shut the windows and doors.
Thats my opinion. I know that a lot of people think different but my birds will never have clipped wings.

My dove has never been clipped and as far as I'm concerned it never was an option to begin with. People that clip thier birds are just as bad as the people that declaw cats. They just can't understand the feelings of thier pets and they should be shot.

Beautiful capture. I agree, a bird just isn't a bird if it can't fly. If a person doesn't want their bird to fly, then they should get a gerbil... Or a penguin. xD

ou rough words I heard of that declawing before here at deviantart. That must be really bad!! I cannot believe that there are people who do that. I mean feathers can grow back but claws? They are pulled out, I believe?! And they can never grow back.
