Crocodile taken at Zoo Duisburg in July 2009. Do not steal.

Did you know?
-Crocodiles have horn plates on their back and sides which protect them from bites.
-If a crocodile has a wound, it heals pretty fast. Scientists try to find the reason for that to help people in healing wounds faster, too.
-Zoo Duisburg keeps 2 dwarf crocodiles. They are maybe about 2 meters long and appear rather small.
-Crocodiles can live months without food. They do not chew their bait, but swallow it whole. To rip off a chunk of meat out of an animal, they grab it, and make a so called "death role" to turn around themselves until the meat rips off.

There are 2 of those but in seperate enclosures in Duisburg. I guess they are already very old but unfortunately I have no idea when they arrived to the zoo.
